We are delighted to share the wonderful news that our talented Year 2 pupils were crowned winners in the Group Poetry category at this year’s Woodley Festival.
Performing two lively poems – “The Dentist and the Crocodile” by Roald Dahl and “I’ve Got a Ball of Pastry” by Julia Donaldson – the group impressed the judges with their energy, character, and performance skills.
The judges noted that from the moment the pupils stepped onto the stage, they were fully immersed in their performance. Their facial expressions, use of voice and overall delivery brought both poems to life. The group were praised for their confident expression, clear intonation, and the thoroughly entertaining nature of both pieces.
The pupils’ confidence, teamwork and exuberance were evident in both performances, and we couldn’t be prouder of their achievement.
Well done, Year 2 – your hard work and enthusiasm shone through brilliantly!
