U11 Boys ISA Rugby

“There is no shortcut for hard work that leads to effectiveness. You must stay disciplined because most of the work is behind the scenes.”

On Friday the 3rd of November, a strong 12 man squad journeyed to Bedford Athletic Rugby Club, to compete in the ISA National Rugby Tournament. Each member of the squad committed to a strong culture of togetherness: training, eating and playing together. In the group stages, the boys demonstrated some masterful rugby, running some hard lines and exploiting holes forced in the defence. They capitalised on this by winning the majority of their matches convincingly and scoring a total of 12 tries in 3 games. The Holme Grange team moved into the top pool, set to play some of the most able teams at the tournament. The boys attempted to play our style of rugby, with quick hands, fast feet and width on the ball. They met two very physical teams who confined them to playing a style of rugby not suited to the boys. However, with the results in, the boys achieved a 3rd place overall, a fantastic achievement! This could not have happened without the hard work and commitment of all the boys in the squad. We are all very proud of each and every one of them.
