GCSE Results
We are delighted to celebrate another year of outstanding GCSE results, reflecting the hard work of our pupils, the dedication of our staff and the support of our families.
A Year of Outstanding Achievement
Our pupils achieved exceptional outcomes across a broad range of subjects, placing Holme Grange among the highest-performing independent schools nationally.
As a non-selective co-educational school, we are proud that pupils of all abilities are supported and challenged to achieve their personal best.
Headline Achievements
With an impressive set of results this year, our pupils achieved:
- 97% of all entries awarded grades 9–4 (A* to C equivalent)
- 57% at grades 9–7 – more than double last year’s figure
- 38% at grades 9–8
- 16% of pupils securing grade 9
These outcomes are a testament to the commitment, resilience and ambition of our pupils.
Core subjects once again demonstrated exceptional performance, with 98% of pupils achieving 9 – 4 in Mathematics, 99% in English Language and 95% in English Literature, with high proportions at the top grades. Science was particularly impressive, with 100% pass rates across Biology, Chemistry and Physics and more than 90% of candidates achieving grades 9 – 7. This continues a proud tradition at Holme Grange of consecutive years with 100% Science pass rates. Notably, 56% of pupils achieved grade 9 in both Chemistry and Physics – the school’s highest ever results in these subjects.
Modern Foreign Languages also excelled, with every candidate in French achieving grades 9 – 7, including 63% at grade 9, while German secured a 100% pass rate with 80% at 9 – 7. Humanities and Arts subjects also shone, with 65% of grades at 9 – 7 in History, 56% in Geography, 53% in Religious Studies, 62% in Food Preparation and Nutrition, and 83% in Design Technology. Art and Drama both achieved a 100% pass rate. Business Studies and Computer Science also achieved strong results, with Business securing 47% at grades 9 – 7 and Computer Science achieving 58% at grades 9 – 7.
Excellence extended beyond GCSEs, with BTEC pathways also delivering outstanding success. Music BTEC pupils achieved 86% at Distinction*, Animal Care celebrated excellent outcomes with 67% of pupils awarded Distinction* or Distinction, and Sport was equally impressive, with GCSE PE securing a 100% pass rate and BTEC Sport achieving a 100% pass rate including 33% at Distinction.
Reflecting on this final set of results before handing over the leadership of the school, Claire Robinson shared her pride:
