We were delighted to welcome prospective families to our recent Reception Admissions Open Morning, which offered parents and children the opportunity to experience the atmosphere and values of our school first-hand.
The morning began with refreshments, a chance to talk to our Registrar, Mr Slape, who guided families through the admissions process and what to expect when joining the school. This was complemented by a welcome address from our Headteacher, Mrs Adams, who shared insights into our approach to early years education and the importance we place on nurturing curiosity, confidence and a love of learning from the very start of a child’s school journey.
Parents were then invited to explore the Reception classrooms, gaining an understanding of how our learning spaces are carefully designed to support both structured learning and creative play. Families also visited our outdoor classroom, where children benefit from hands-on learning experiences and regular opportunities to engage with the natural environment.
One of the highlights of the morning for our youngest visitors was the chance to meet a selection of our school animals, including ferrets, guinea pigs, goats and peacocks. These encounters form part of the rich, varied experiences we offer to encourage responsibility, empathy and curiosity. The morning concluded with pupils receiving a small gift bag as a keepsake of their visit.
We would like to thank all families who joined us and helped make the morning such a positive experience. Our Whole School Open Morning will take place on 30th January and we will also be hosting a Senior School Discovery Afternoon on 27th January.
