“It’s fabulous. It’s all home cooked – even the cakes are homemade.”
Promoting Healthy Eating
Thomas Franks is not just a catering company. We firmly believe in promoting healthy eating and do this by offering balanced, nutritious menus. Each week, our menus are made up of foods that are both good for your child and fun! We will hold various events and activities throughout the year to show your children first hand the benefits of healthy eating.
Snacks Permitted For Mid-Morning Break
Pre-Prep and Prep children are allowed to bring a piece of fresh fruit or a raw vegetable (e.g. carrot) to eat at mid-morning break time. Dried fruit is also acceptable but biscuits, crisps (including snack-a-jacks), cakes, cheese biscuits, cereal, sweets, chocolate, fruit winders etc. are NOT permitted. Your attention to this matter would be much appreciated.
If your child has a specific dietary requirement please let the office know and we will do our best to ensure your child’s needs are met.
All children have School lunch, produced by the catering team, the charge for which is included in the termly fees.
The School Caterers use fresh produce and children are given a healthy, balanced diet following guidelines issued by the Government. Parents are asked to inform the School, on the medical form provided, if there are any special dietary needs for allergies. Pre-Prep and Little Grange children are not forced to eat if they do not like the meal, but are encouraged to try. Menus are posted on the parent notice board (opposite the Sports Hall), on the notice board in the corridor outside the School Office and in Little Grange. Menus can also be accessed on the school website.
Our congratulations to the Catering team who have worked towards, and are now fully accredited to Coeliac UK, having recently achieved an A grading in their recent ‘Gluten Free’ Audit and are now able to display the GF symbol on our menus.
Menus will typically be run on a 3 week rolling programme and are subject to change due to seasonal produce availability .
