Post-16 Options
When it comes to post-16 education, we ensure that pupils have a clear understanding of the various pathways available to them.
A Levels
Students can choose full-time study at a school or college, selecting from a wide range of subjects. We provide detailed guidance, including a comprehensive booklet distributed in Year 11 that outlines local sixth form schools and colleges (both state and private) along with entry requirements and application deadlines.
Apprenticeships
An apprenticeship offers pupils the chance to earn while they learn. Apprentices spend 80% of their time in the workplace, gaining hands-on experience, while dedicating the remaining 20% to classroom learning at a college or university. This leads to a nationally recognised qualification and is an excellent route for pupils who prefer a more practical, vocational approach to learning.
T Levels
T Levels are a high-quality technical alternative to A Levels, equivalent in size to three A Levels. These courses focus on vocational skills, preparing pupils for skilled employment, higher education or apprenticeships. Each T Level includes a significant industry placement lasting at least 45 days, giving pupils valuable real-world experience while allowing employers to nurture emerging talent in their field. T Level pupils spend 80% of their time in a learning environment and 20% in meaningful industry placements.
