Our students recently returned from an unforgettable expedition to Iceland, where they immersed themselves in the breathtaking natural beauty and dramatic geography of this extraordinary country.
The adventure began with a whale-watching trip on the North Atlantic. With eyes wide and hearts racing, students watched in awe as majestic whales broke the surface of the icy waters – an experience they are sure to remember for years to come.
The journey continued with glacier walking and geyser spotting, offering first-hand insight into Iceland’s dynamic landscapes shaped by ice and fire. From glacial formations to geothermal eruptions, the land itself became their classroom.
At Reynisfjara, students stood in awe of the towering Reynisdrangar Sea Stacks, felt the spray of powerful waterfalls and walked across ancient glaciers. Inside man-made ice tunnels carved deep within a glacier, they discovered shimmering ice sculptures and even a throne sculpted entirely from ice.
The group also came face-to-face with the aftermath of a recent volcanic eruption, exploring vast fields of fresh lava rock – a powerful reminder of Iceland’s ever-changing terrain.
This was more than just a trip. It was a rich and meaningful educational experience that brought learning to life and left a lasting impression on everyone who took part.
