Holme Grange School is delighted to announce that it has been named a finalist in two categories at the Education Choices Awards 2026: Supporting Sustainability and Diversity and Inclusion in Sport.
The national recognition celebrates the school’s commitment to providing exceptional opportunities that extend beyond the classroom, empowering pupils to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to make a positive impact both within school and beyond.
Supporting Sustainability
Holme Grange has been recognised for its whole-school approach to sustainability, where environmental responsibility is embedded throughout school life.
From Pre-Prep pupils earning Sustainability Badges to Senior School pupils participating in initiatives such as Mock COP, sustainability is woven through the curriculum and supported by a wide range of pupil-led opportunities. Projects including SustainFest, Surplus to Purpose and the Sustainability Council encourage pupils to become active changemakers, developing an understanding of both local and global environmental challenges.
The school has also been recognised through its eduCCate Global Gold Award and membership of The Alliance for Sustainable Schools (TASS), making Holme Grange the first and only UK school within this international network.
Diversity and Inclusion in Sport
Holme Grange has also been recognised for its commitment to ensuring every pupil can experience success, confidence and enjoyment through sport.
Sport is a central part of life at Holme Grange, with opportunities available for all ages, interests and abilities. Alongside traditional team sports, pupils can access activities including climbing, trampolining, cycling, golf, yoga and the school’s innovative Alternative Games pathway, ensuring every pupil can find a way to participate and thrive.
This inclusive approach sits alongside a strong culture of sporting achievement, with pupils regularly competing and succeeding at local, regional and national level. The recognition celebrates a sporting programme where participation, wellbeing and achievement go hand in hand.
