Many congratulations to all the Finding Futures children who graduated on Tuesday 6th February.
All the children have progressed enormously since September improving skills such as communication, self-awareness, confidence and resilience. They have had regular coaching sessions with experienced coaches who have encouraged all the children to make targets to achieve over the six month programme.
The children had three trips where they had opportunities to see these skills in action and have chances to improve their own. Their first was to help with some conservation work near Wokingham. Here they learned about giving back to our community and working within a team. Our Into The Wild Trip was at PGL Marchant’s Hill on a cold November weekend. The children challenged themselves in all sorts of ways; the activities, staying away from home and working in teams with children they had not met before. I was extremely proud of all they achieved. Lastly they visited Hewlett Packard in Bracknell where they met several staff from the business and took part in design competitions.
All in all it has been a fantastic programme to be part of and we hope to run another next year with an information evening in the Summer term for parents and children in years 4&5.
