On Monday 26th September, we held our Autumn term PSHCE day for our Eaton Grange students. Each year group from Year 7 – Year 11 had a study skills session where they learned different techniques and strategies to help with their learning and revision.
Year 7 then had a teambuilding session at Horseshoe Lake in Sandhurst where their challenge was to build a raft that they would row out the island without sinking! There was mixed success but they all had a very enjoyable afternoon learning how to work together – cooperation and collaboration at work!
Year 8 did some group work on resilience and social skills and then learnt the life-saving skill of CPR. Using our equipment supplied by the British Heart Foundation, the students learned how to act in the case of a cardiac arrest.
Years 9 – 11 learned how to be “Streetwise and Stay Safe” with some useful information about personal safety and some self-defence techniques followed by a careers session where they are starting to look at work experience and options after GCSE and in the future.
