Holme Grange Success at Maidenhead Festival of Music

Music is an important part of school life at Holme Grange School and pupils were commended for their performances at the Maidenhead Festival of Music earlier this month.

The children from Years 3 to 8, entered vocal and piano classes and benefited greatly from the expertise and feedback that they received from the adjudicators, leading professionals Ian Kennedy and David Patrick.

18 pupils entered in total and achieved an excellent medal tally four gold, six silver and four bronze medals for vocal performances and two silver and two bronze medals in the Piano section. In addition seven of the singers entered as an ensemble and were awarded the gold medal and won praise for their blend and tone.

One of the highlights of the festival was a series of mini-master classes given by ex-BBC singer Ian Kennedy towards the close of the Festival. All participants enjoyed their experience and look forward to similar performance opportunities at the Woodley Festival of Music next March.
