The School Day
School starts with a traditional Assembly. Twice a week, the Pre-Prep and Prep schools join for a whole school assembly and on Fridays each form takes its turn to lead, with Parents invited to attend. The time is also used to celebrate birthdays and individual or collective successes.
On joining Reception, children are placed in one of four houses (Trent, Severn, Thames and Kennet) – competing for a termly House Points Cup and various other shields for inter–house sport and music. The house system encourages team work, effort and good behaviour.
At lunchtime, pupils are offered a nutritionally balanced meal and salad bar in the school dining room which is prepared and cooked daily on site. The Catering Manager is happy to discuss any individual dietary requirements as necessary.
An extended day facility is available up until 6pm. Reception and Year 1 join the nursery for tea and play – while Years 2 to 8 are able to take part in the wide range of after school clubs or supervised Prep sessions.
