SUMMER 2005

60th Anniversary Picnic and Fun Afternoon

To celebrate Holme Grange’s 60th Anniversary, a Picnic and Fun Afternoon was held on the Show Lawn. A lively start was made with a professional yo-yo demonstration, which showed the full range of tricks possible from this ingenious toy. The whole School then enjoyed a picnic lunch in form groups.

During the afternoon, regular Punch and Judy shows kept the different age groups amused and a clown was constantly on hand with jokes and balloon modelling. Members of staff ran popular attractions, which included face painting, a coconut shy and a bouncy castle.
A period dress competition saw many children attired in 1940s style school uniform. The celebration concluded with a selection of songs, sung variously by the whole school and different forms, before each pupil received an Anniversary beaker as a commemorative gift.
