Mother's Day Tea

Tuesday 21st March was a very special day for the children in Reception and their mums as we held our first ever Mother's Day Tea. The children had been very busy all week making cards and presents and cooking scones so when the day finally arrived everyone was very excited! The morning passed in a whirl of final preparations as tables were laid, scones were buttered and tea cups counted.

Finally it was time for our special guests to arrive and the children showed everyone to their tables and took orders. Thankfully the mums were willing to share the scones with the boys and girls so there were smiles all round. As an extra special treat the children had prepared a surprise song and we finished the afternoon by singing this to the mothers, many of whom were seen to be wiping their eyes, and then we presented them with cards and gifts. It was a really lovely afternoon which was enjoyed by all and created many special memories for everyone involved.
