Following success in the first round, eight semi-finalists of the EuroTalk Junior Language Challenge went to Hurstpierpoint College, in West Sussex, to compete in the Regional Semi-Final. They had started the Challenge, in Year 5, by learning German and, having qualified for the next round, spent their summer holidays learning Thai.
The competition was tense as their knowledge of Thai was tested against the clock. They all tried very hard and competed bravely and one Holme Grange pupil excelled with the highest score of the day which gained him a place in the final in November. He now has a month to learn Swahili! Well done and Good Luck! |
