Year 1 eagerly boarded a coach and set off to visit the Maidenhead Synagogue. They were given a warm welcome and quickly settled down to learn the essential facts about Judaism. Many interesting and ornate artefacts were shown to the group, including the Torah, a Mezuzah and the Menorah. The children enjoyed discovering the purpose of each item and heard about several of the Jewish festivals. Some of the children had the opportunity to partake in rôle play activities.

Back in the classroom, every child in Year 1 delighted in sharing the knowledge that they had acquired about Judaism and they were able to ask questions to further develop their understanding of this religion.
