Heko!

The Language Show, at Olympia in London, again hosted the final of the 2006 EuroTalk Junior Language Challenge. Since his success at the semi-finals, our Year 6 finalist had had a month to learn Swahili – his third language in nine months!

The competition was extremely tough. There were three heats and then a grand final. Our finalist won his heat and went through to the grand final. This was an exciting and nerve-wracking contest but he competed bravely and came away with fourth prize, of a trip to the IMAX cinema and a flash memory card. The prizes were presented by Mr Greg Hands, MP for Hammersmith and Fulham.

"Heko" means "well done" in Swahili.
