SPRING 2006

Woodley Festival of Music and Arts

This was another successful competition for Holme Grange pupils and once again medals were won. Years 3 to 6 were represented, with two Golds, two Silvers and a Bronze being secured. The winning pupils sang exceptionally well and thoroughly deserved their rewards. However, I was also impressed with the other older children, who all gave a good account of themselves and who continue to grow in stature in these festivals. It was also heartening to see the younger pupils, who sang for the first time at a festival. Both these boys showed that there is much potential for the future. The adjudicator, Mrs Gabrielle Burgin Lister, gave an array of useful advice. She said, "Remarks are more important than marks" and to all the performers to "stand proud".
